Ashley Cochran, Owner & Student Midwife
In her pre-child life, Ashley was a classically trained ballerina and then spent time in the United States Army under active duty status. She has always been drawn to the medical field, working as a medical assistant and in medical administration, but never felt like she found her place until becoming a part of the natural birth community during her second pregnancy at Fort Bragg, NC. She accomplished her first VBAC there and began immediately advocating for and supporting families in their journeys after a cesarean. After the birth of her third son at a birthing center in 2013, she officially trained as a doula and has been serving families in birth and postpartum ever since, attending over 200 births (and counting!). Currently, she is pursuing her Certified Professional Midwife licensure and is completing the final stages of her training. Ashley lives in Belton with her partner and 3 sons. She will always eat Mexican food, overdoses on coffee routinely, and is easily amused by her own jokes.
Brittany Thornton, CPM, LM & Owner
Brittany lives in Belton with her husband, two children, and five crazy but lovable dogs. She worked as an EMT-B in 2003 before joining the United States Marine Corps. Upon completion of her time in service, she became pregnant with her first child and after feeling lost in the shuffle at an OB practice, she switched to seeing midwives at a birth center. It was then she realized that she wanted and needed to be in birth work to help empower birthing people and their families and leave birth better than she found it. She is currently a NARM Certified Professional Midwife and a Licensed Midwife in the State of Texas. Throughout her 7 pregnancies, Brittany has personally experienced an epidural birth, cesarean sections, VBACs, and unmedicated births. Through surrogacy, she has helped to grow families of many different dynamics, to include same-sex couples and single parents. In her off-time, she enjoys indulging in reality tv, hoarding dachshunds, and swimming in the lake.
